~ The purpose of life is a life of purpose~
DEFINE
Defining our own success could possibly make us clear about what we actually desire to pursue in our lives. "What I want to achieve in life?"I asked this question to myself not less than a hundred times, but every time I went through each phase of my life the answer would change. It's really hard to fix a definite answer to my question; however I hope my life goal at the moment is permanent and my destiny.
My life goal is to become a successful doctor. What is success meant to me?
Doctor for me is a job who serves the community and takes the maintenance of public health as my responsibility BUT at the same time do not neglect my own personal life. I have heard some of the cases where the doctors are too committed to the hospital until they tend to neglect their own family. For me both career and family are equally important, and I must strike a balance between both parties.
I imagine myself to become a specialist doctor by the time I am 40 years old. After getting specialist qualification I may put myself into research field and publish my own discoveries in medical field.(if possible I would like to get Noble prize!!XD) And for the family side I wish my family will be in peace and my spouse and I could educate my children to possess developed IQ and EQ.
INTERPRET
Becoming a doctor is not an easy task; it must requires skills, sheer determination, perseverance and lifelong learning in order to achieve the peak in my career. Intense training and harsh scolding are what a doctor must go through. Long working hour, in my own opinion, is the toughest part for the job. It sometimes can go up to 18 hours per day or even longer. Not only that, doctor also carries risk of being infected by the patients like HIV disease.
Having said that, the largest part of me choosing doctor as my life goal is that helping others could give me great satisfaction in my life. And being down-to-earth, doctor is a profession and possess high social status. Finding job will also be a lot easier in medical field considering the skills I obtained after graduated and the increasing number of population.
EVALUATE
It is not impossible to achieve my goal. I have my own strength which is the perseverance and passion in medical field. If I successfully sharpen these skills, they will become my stepping stone.
At the same time, there are a few weakness I should overcome. One of these is my presentation skills that play vital role after stepping into the world. Next is my analysis skill. I must improve it to capture every single detail especially during diagnosis of patient illness in the future. A minor wrong judgement can lead to fatal mistake. And fast action is what I possess to deal with emergencies.
PLAN
First, I should get good results in A-level, and apply for scholarship to either study in local or overseas. Involved myself in more extracurricular activities could enhance my interpersonal and analytic skills. My mind would become more mature and could think of different perspectives especially when I were to plan an event.
When I enter university, this is what my plan goes-- study ahead on anatomy and physiology which are the foundation for medical and I would emphasize more on application of theory in practical.
This definitely will give me better understanding on what I will be studying on.
After I graduate, pass my housemanship and officially become a doctor, I will enter specialized field as quick as possible. Then I plan to go into research and publish my work to raise my fame at global scale(HAHA IF I MANAGE TO DO IT IN THE FUTURE!!)
This is my DIEP on my personal life goal.
What matters me is not money and fame actually, it is what I could do to the society and left behind after my death. No matter is new treatment for certain diseases or just my spirit for the next generation to fight again.
I wish my goal and dream would come true.
Failure will never overtake me if my determination to succeed is strong enough.
And I will overtake yesterday version of myself, and become a better me.Keep moving, until our goal is reached.
We only live once.
